Jack the Cat Reappears at JFK

Ham on Wry is delighted to report that Jack, the elusive cat that has been roaming JFK Airport for two months, fell through ceiling tiles in a Custom and Border Patrol room at Terminal 8 Tuesday and is now being treated by veterinarian Dr. Jack Post.  Jack has a feeding tube and an IV that provides him with fluids, but the vet has listed him in critical condition.  After 61 days of dodging would-be captors, he was severely dehydrated and extremely hungry.

The cat's owner, Karen Pascoe, vows he will never fly cargo again.  Her sister, Mary Beth Melchior, felt American Airlines, who botched Jack's transport, wasn't doing enough to locate the cat and started a Facebook page for him.  Jack immediately gained fame along with many well wishes, so much so, that he now has a Twitter account as well.

Jack disappeared August 25th, when Pascoe dropped him off with her other cat, Barry, each in a separate cage for their flight to California.  Barry made it to San Francisco; Jack didn't.  She had given up hope of his ever being found and adopted another cat to cheer up Barry, who missed his former companion.  When the vet releases Jack, Pascoe said she'd never let him out of her sight again.  Ham on Wry hopes that American Airlines flies him in first class and treats him like a king.  He's had quite an ordeal.
