Max Meltzer-Homeless No More
Posted on 16:36 by Unknown
Thanks to a diligent private detective hired by Max Meltzer's family, Meltzer will abandon his homeless wandering in Utah and reunite with his family. David Lundberg launched a two-month search for Meltzer and eventually located him in Salt Lake Cit, pushing a shopping cart containing all of his worldly possessions in a park there Saturday.
In an interview with the Associated Press, Lundberg disclosed that Meltzer's brother died last year and left him a "significant" amount of money. "He'll no longer be living on the street or in abandoned storage sheds. He'll be able to have a normal life, and be able to have a home, provide for himself, and purchase clothing, food and health care." Lundberg acted on a tip from a call into a radio station, thinking it might be just another dead end, but Meltzer was roaming Pioneer Park, as the caller said.
Meltzer's family will fly in from New York to reconcile with him, after losing all contact last September. He wants no media contact currently, but promises to discuss the possibility of a news conference next week with his family. He has been beaten and robbed and suffers from emotional issues. His family wants to help him with his problems and is eager to see him again.
Meltzer's return to a more normal life will not be easy. Years of living on the streets has left many scars invisible to the eye. I hope this has the kind of happy ending as in Shakespeare's All's Well That Ends Well. All the best, Max Meltzer.
