The story I promised in my brief post yesterday will come later today or tomorrow, but it has been "trumped" by The Donald himself. I saw an interview in which he questioned Obama's acceptance into Columbia University to complete his undergraduate degree and his acceptance into Harvard Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude. Trump stated he read that Obama had been a poor student. I find it unsconscionable that he would question something like that, when he hasn't produced any evidence that he grauduated with such high honors from his undergraduate studies. Nor has he earned a graduate degree of any kind.
Frankely, this kind of pandering to ultra-consevatives is a ploy to draw attention away from the important issues of the day. Perhaps we should question his unique hairstyle or the gilded, ostentatious dwellling he calls home in New York. The Donald's audacity is second only to his ego and inflated opinion of his accomplshments. The President of the United States does not have the authority to say, "You're fired" to any of the Senators or Representatives with whom he disagrees, as The Donald can on Celebrity Apprentice or in any of his businesses.
When the citizens of this country complain about our country's shortcomings, they must also understand that the responsibilities of citizenship require thoughtful consideration of a candidate's qualifications. That includes more than listening to pompous braggadaccio used in political ads and taking forwarded messages on the internet slandering one candidate or lauding another as gospel. Anyone who thinks that The Donald would make an effective President might want to consider his utter lack of diplomacy in dealing with others, or the sour pout that appears on his face when someone disagrees with his dictates. The Donald should stick to what he knows best: building large projects that sometimes succeed and sometimes file bankruptcy.
