Voters eliminated Sylvia Yacoub, fourth from left , and Bryan Keith, second from the right in above photo last night. To build suspense, Carson Daly announced the eight singers saved from elimination first, waiting until the end to inform Sylvia and Bryan that they didn't make it. In my view, Carson committed a grievous error in leading up to that announcement. It sounded as though he was going to make the announcement of which of the three remaining contestants would continue when he called Sylvia's name. However, he asked her what it would mean if she was saved, and she clearly misunderstood why he had said her name. She was so shaken that she couldn't articulate an answer. Daly should proceed with greater caution next time.
The eight contestants who will return have unique styles, so it is difficult to predict who will emerge as the winner. When someone asked me which singer shoudl win, I couldn't choose one. I'm not an industry mogul, but I recognize in all of them the level of talent that can take them to stardom. This season has an addictive lure that the previous ones didn't have for me. When the contestants perform, it feels like a Vegas production. It's the best free entertainment I've witnessed in a long time.
